River City Brass celebrates 250 years of diverse American music with a concert that includes breathtaking pieces like Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, folk songs like Shenandoah and Ashokan Farewell, and classics like Georgia on My Mind, American Pie, and Take Me Home, Country Roads. Add some toe-tappers like Scott Joplin’s Maple Leaf Rag and Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever – with the piccolo solo reassigned to the tuba, naturally – and the result is a show for all ages that is a blast to experience live.
